Plant Care

Watering

During summer, Water daily or when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. During Winter season water once in 2 days or when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. Keep the soil lightly moist at all times, but do not overwater as this will cause brown spots and leaf drop. Curly or dry leaves suggest, the plant is dry and needs watering. Water in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler. Always check your soil before watering.

Light

During summer season keep the plants in shaded area and during winter season plants can withstand direct/indirect light.

Temperature

During summer season or when the temperature is above 45°C place the plant in shaded area. During winter season or the when the temperature is below 45°C the plants can be directly placed in direct/indirect sunlight.

Fertilizer

Apply liquid fertilizer or slow release fertilizer once in 15 days. Always fertilizer the plants during the morning hours when the temperature is low. For best results use Folikraft ready to use Outdoor Plant Food / Flower Booster.

Plant Bio

Tabebuia rosea, commonly known as Pink Trumpet Tree or Rosy Trumpet Tree, is a tropical tree native to Central and South America. It is prized for its stunning display of large, trumpet-shaped pink flowers that bloom in abundance during the spring season. Here is a description and care guide for Tabebuia rosea:

Description:

Size: Tabebuia rosea is a medium to large-sized tree that can reach a height of 25 to 40 feet (7.6 to 12 meters) with a spread of 25 to 35 feet (7.6 to 10.7 meters). It has an upright, rounded canopy with a straight trunk.
Leaves: The leaves of Tabebuia rosea are deciduous, meaning they shed in the cooler months. They are pinnately compound with multiple leaflets arranged in pairs. The leaflets are lance-shaped and green, providing an attractive foliage display when the tree is in leaf.
Flowers: The showy flowers of Tabebuia rosea are the highlight of the tree. They are large, trumpet-shaped, and range in color from pale pink to vibrant magenta. The flowers appear in clusters at the branch tips before the leaves emerge, creating a striking floral display.
Bark: The bark of Tabebuia rosea is light gray and smooth when young, gradually becoming rougher and darker with age.

Care:

Sunlight: Tabebuia rosea thrives in full sun and requires at least six to eight hours of direct sunlight daily. Ensure that the tree is planted in a location where it can receive ample sunlight for optimal growth and flowering.

Soil: Provide well-draining soil for Tabebuia rosea. It can tolerate a range of soil types, including sandy or loamy soils. However, the soil should not be excessively compacted or prone to waterlogging, as this can lead to root rot. Amending the soil with organic matter can improve its fertility and drainage.

Watering: Tabebuia rosea is relatively drought-tolerant once established. Water newly planted trees regularly to help them establish a strong root system. Once established, reduce watering frequency, allowing the soil to dry out partially between waterings. Avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot.

Pruning: Prune Tabebuia rosea in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Light pruning can also be done to shape the tree and remove excessive growth. Avoid heavy pruning, as it may reduce flower production.

Fertilizer: Tabebuia rosea generally does not require regular fertilization if planted in nutrient-rich soil. However, you can apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to provide some nutrients. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for application rates.

Pests and diseases: Tabebuia rosea is generally resistant to pests and diseases. However, it can occasionally be affected by fungal leaf spots or root rot if the soil is excessively moist. Ensure good air circulation around the tree and avoid overhead watering to prevent leaf spot diseases.

Cold protection: While Tabebuia rosea is generally tolerant of mild frosts, prolonged freezing temperatures can damage the tree. If you live in a colder climate, consider planting it in a protected area or using frost blankets to protect it during cold snaps.

Tabebuia rosea is a stunning tree that adds a burst of color to any landscape during the spring season. Its attractive foliage and vibrant flowers make it a popular choice for tropical and subtropical gardens. With proper care and attention to its sunlight, soil, watering, and pruning needs, you can enjoy
