Plant Care

Watering

During summer, Water daily or when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. During Winter season water once in 2 days or when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. Keep the soil lightly moist at all times, but do not overwater as this will cause brown spots and leaf drop. Curly or dry leaves suggest, the plant is dry and needs watering. Water in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler. Always check your soil before watering.

Light

During summer season keep the plants in shaded area and during winter season plants can withstand direct/indirect light.

Temperature

During summer season or when the temperature is above 45°C place the plant in shaded area. During winter season or the when the temperature is below 45°C the plants can be directly placed in direct/indirect sunlight.

Fertilizer

Apply liquid fertilizer or slow release fertilizer once in 15 days. Always fertilizer the plants during the morning hours when the temperature is low. For best results use Folikraft ready to use Outdoor Plant Food / Flower Booster.

Plant Bio

Eranthemum, also known as the Blue Sage or Pseuderanthemum, is a genus of tropical evergreen shrubs known for their colorful foliage and occasional blue flowers. While there isn't a specific variety called "White Variegated," I can provide general care guidelines for Eranthemum with variegated white foliage:

Description:

Foliage: Eranthemum plants typically have glossy, ovate to lance-shaped leaves that may feature variegation. In the case of a "White Variegated" variety, the leaves would display white variegation, often in the form of stripes, spots, or marbling, against a green background.
Flowers: Eranthemum plants occasionally produce small, tubular blue flowers, typically in clusters, although flowering may not be as prominent as the foliage.
Growth Habit: Eranthemum shrubs have a bushy growth habit and can reach heights of 2 to 5 feet (0.6 to 1.5 meters) depending on the species and growing conditions. They are often grown as ornamental houseplants or in outdoor gardens in tropical and subtropical regions.
Size: As mentioned, the size of Eranthemum plants can vary depending on the species and growing conditions, but they generally remain compact and manageable.

Care Tips:

Sunlight:

Eranthemum plants prefer bright, indirect sunlight. Place them near a window where they can receive several hours of indirect sunlight each day.
Avoid exposing them to direct sunlight, especially during the hottest part of the day, as it can scorch the leaves.

Temperature:

Eranthemum plants thrive in warm temperatures and are best suited for USDA hardiness zones 10-11. They prefer temperatures between 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C).
Protect them from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F (13°C), as they are sensitive to cold.

Watering:

Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch.
Avoid letting the soil dry out completely between waterings, as it can stress the plant.

Soil:

Plant Eranthemum in well-draining, fertile soil. A mixture of peat moss, perlite, and compost works well for indoor cultivation.
Ensure the pot has adequate drainage to prevent waterlogging.

Fertilization:

Feed Eranthemum plants with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring through fall).
Dilute the fertilizer to half strength to avoid over-fertilizing, which can cause leaf burn.

Humidity:

Eranthemum plants prefer moderate to high humidity levels. Increase humidity by using a humidifier, placing the pot on a tray filled with pebbles and water, or misting the foliage regularly.

Pruning:

Prune Eranthemum plants as needed to maintain their shape and size, remove dead or yellowing leaves, and encourage bushier growth.
Pinch back the tips of the stems to promote branching and denser foliage.

Pest and Disease Control:

Monitor Eranthemum plants regularly for signs of pests such as aphids, spider mites, or whiteflies. Treat infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.
Ensure good air circulation around the plants to prevent fungal diseases such as powdery mildew or leaf spot.

By providing proper care and attention, Eranthemum plants with white variegated foliage can thrive indoors or outdoors, adding beauty and interest to your home or garden with their colorful leaves and occasional blue flowers.
